Pops, Clicks, Distortion in Live 6 with 1820m-partiallysolve

Hello,

After upgrading to 6 i have distortion on sound; so i increased latency from 7 to 10 using Asio on a Emu 1820m. The distortion is fine in playing a set at home but still get a little crackle on the test tone.

My PC is a dual core AMD 3800, plenty of memory and my soundcard is and Emu 1820m, just wondering if I should be expecting better or is 10ms latency par for the course?

I have got the same configuration.
Emu 1820 ,Ableton 6 and a Desktop Dual Core.

I have got my latency at 7ms if I'am not using too many tracks 4ms works also for me. 10ms is too much I think.
Do you any midi hardware ?

Hi there,

No additional midi hardware except a simple usb midi controller - might have to look further into how I have set up i guess!

Can I ask if you have noticed any difference with different PatchMix templates? Whats ur standard setup>

I have also noticed a "crackling" sound since I upgraded to Live 6 from 5.

using M-Audio Axiom 25.

The crackling gets slightly worse with higher CPU usage.

Also, CPU cannot seem to handle 4 Audio tracks and 2 Midi tracks. Stutters at 5 tracks, and barely plays at 6 tracks.

Any solutions? Tech support has not been much help.

can I be in your club?

Upgraded from 4.1.4 to 6; my old sessions that played fine in 4 are apparently too much for 6 to handle. I TRIPLED my RAM from 512MB to 1.5GB, and it had zero effect... so something else is going on here. I have an AMD 2.1GHz CPU, running winXP Pro sp2, audio is RME Multiface. What gives, what settings can I change? Also noticed that audio clips and Ableton's internal instruments/ VSTi's are not in sync... how do I fix this?

Had updated my drivers for the EMU 1820m card, but i hadnt updated the application software, updated this and now its working like a charm at 5ms latency. Had no issues in live 5, but it was a necessity for live 6.
