Problem loading VSTs/plugin into Ableton 7.0.1

I've got a whack of VSTs downloaded and running in Live. 90% of them work, like Absynth, Glitch, Groove Agent, EWQLSO, the Grand, Wave Mercury... etc. They all work. But some plugins aren't being recognized when i Rescan my VST folder.

Antares Auto-Tune and Native Instruments: Bandstand arent being picked up by Live when i Rescan my plugin folder.

I'm using XP and i have checked to make sure the .dll files are properly in place.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Just what I said.

Go to (turn on *show hidden files and folders* in Windows' view menu):

Documents and Settings/*your user account*/Application Data/Ableton/*your version Live*/Preferences and delete the preferences.cfg found there.

Reboot, start Live and reset your plugin folder/rescan your plugins. This will fix scanning issues 99% of the time.

alright now some weird s**t is happening. since deleting the preference.cfg file, my Live Device presets are all gone, when i create a midi loop with a sample its dropping notes every second time it plays, and most of my VSTs are saying they're missing files. what the hell happened?

You need to setup your preferences again (path, devices etc).

Could someone please tell me the default Library Location ? I'm not sure what folder to direct it to!

for anyone else reading this, i would not recommend deleting your preference.cfg

although it does solve the issue of being able to import all missing VSTs, it did some seriously bad shit that i've now spent 2 days trying to fix.
