Native Instruments causing CPU spike in Live 6 - MacBook Pro

Hello -

looked around, but didn't see this topic, although it may still be somewhere in here...

I'm running OSX 10.4 (the latest) on a new MacBook Pro - 2.2 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB ram, with the latest version of Live 6 as well. I just got this mac a month ago, and have been trying to figure out the issue on my own, but can't.

I'm getting CPU spike resulting in popping and dropouts while using Live 6, doesn't matter how many tracks or how few are open, and I've even got it all running at 44.1k, so as not to go to heavy on the laptop when I'm just working within software.

Anybody have similar issues or possible fix? Any help would be appreciated - thanks!
