i don't get an ableton bug report box.
only apple's.


MacBook Pro, 2.16GHz, OS 10.5.6, 2GB ram,
Presonus Firebox.

diabled ALL AU units. crash still occurred the same way.
(should i try disabling the VSTs?)

I'm getting a similar problem. 8b15 crashes immediately after startup splash screen, but with no report screen. The app just closes.

I getting the same issue, ableton crashes while 'creating a new set'

removed all vst's, uninstalled, re downloaded re installed with no joy
live 7 still working fine

i never got around to disabling VSTs.
but i opened a Live 7 file in 8.0b15 and it installed itself.
again, there'd be a crash when opening 8 from scratch..

didn't crash after that opening Live 8 with a Live 7 file.

can you please have a look if there's a template set (template.als) in your preferences folder (of Live 8 ).
If so, try to rename the template and start Live. If this works, please send the offending template to beta@abelton.com.

i see no "template.als" in my Live8 prefs folder and none comes up in a search..

again, when i fire up Live8 from zero, it crashes.
when i opened Live8 with a Live7 set, it's fine..

i installed the Beta on my white MacBook, no problem..

MacBook Pro, 2.16GHz, OS 10.5.6, 2GB ram,
Presonus Firebox.

sent Apple crash report to the ableton beta email address..

b19 on 10.5.6 here, exact same startup failure. Once I removed all template files from previous versions including 7.0.14, it booted fine.

I think that a project manager for the next version is a must have feature.
