strange, it seems (but i'm still not 100% sure) that it doesn't happen when my APC40 is NOT plugged.......

A configure/APC40 bug maybe ??

Beta is unusable for me since beta 10, it crash and crash with lot of plugins as soon as i tweak the GUI,
(sonic charge microtonic, albino 3, fabfilter twin 1 and many more....)it happen sometimes straight after clicking the GUI, or sometimes 5 mn later....
i don't think it was crashing before b10..
b11 is the same.....

hummm, it seems only some Fabfilter products (not all, fabfilter One seems ok) are causing problems....

Do something please...i don't even know if you take these problems seriously....just a quick answer would be cool....
i spend my my time sending crashlogs after nearly every crashes i get...and i got the feeling that you don't care (i hope i'm wrong).....
i don't want to be a drama queen but :

Live has become completetly unusable for me with LIVE 8 (on mac OSX side, on windows it's a lot better, but it's not my main OS)
It's the first time i regret upgrading.....But i can't go back to LIVE 7 because of all the cool new features....oh well....what to do??
Waiting ?yeah i know, i would gladly help, and send you all the crash logs you need........
:(

The big problem is the randomness of theses crashes, so i can't find a pattern, except that tweaking the GUI of a lot of my AU/VST make LIVE crash...that's all i can say......
There's also plugins that never crashed so far like Lennard Digital Sylenth 1 which i use a lot....

The most problematic plugins seems to be Fabfilter Plugins....Floris from Fabfilter told me he 's in contact with you....

Any words on that ???

ps: i'm not alone, a good friend of mine get exactly the same crashes (fabfilter , microtonic etc...) on his macbook pro.....
And he also has sent you loads of crashlogs......

Thanks for reading....

Same problem here, random crashes in even the latest betas when tweaking the GUI on the following plugins -

FabFilter Twin 2
FabFilter Timeless 2

I've submitted crash logs too, looking forward to a fix :)

i'm very, very very disappointed......
:(

8.05 is out, and nothing change......Crash, crash and crash with several plugins.....

The list is too long ...now i really think that spending times sending crashlogs to ableton is completely useless.......

8.04 is unusable too......
i really don't know what to do now....going back to live 7 ??????..........

I think i'll never send crashlogs again....

hey mate,

it's weird, I've got the exact same laptop setup as yours, and although it still crashes every now and then, it remains kinda stable. Not as stable as Live 5 on my imac G5 back in 2006 though, but still it's ok.

I heard there was much trouble with motu drivers on OS X, but I can't verify that. Can you please make sure that you're using the correct drivers first?? Also, if it's a firewire audio interface, make sure that no single hard drive is sidechained to it. It causes permanent trouble with some bus-powered audio interfaces.

I know this is silly, but you never know. I'm just trying to help you out.

And please, be kind with the Ableton support guys. They proved me in the past that I'd better keep my mouth and think again at times.
OOPS
