Hi,

The size of the alp file depends on how long Live has been opened before the crash occurred. If you know of a way to reproduce the crash, and care to send a report, please restart Live and reproduce the crash. If the bug is not a crash, restart Live, reproduce the bug and choose "Do bug reporting snap shot", this will create an alp.

If you have other means to send a big file, it's welcome. Otherwise, well, too bad.

i dont have roblems with teh big files but your sever is bouncing them back..

do you really need audio content in theese alp files? thats what is making them too big and following your description there shouldnt be audio files in the alp files anyway.. is it ok to erase them by hand?

And what to do when you cant reproduce a crash but it happened anyway.. dont report it at all? or just mentioning it as unreproduceable and just sending the apple crash files than?

Hi,

What I'm talking about is the automatic file that gets created the next time you start Live after a crash, or by calling the "Do a bug reporting snap shot" command. These don't contain any audio data. And that's what should be sent.

When you need to send a set, do not create a Live pack, send the set without samples, that's generally enough.

If you still have the file and can't work out how to use yousendit, please email the crash pack to thecovertoperators [@] gmail.com
I will pass it on to Amaury from my server.
Gmail has a file size limit of 25mb. Most email servers only allow 5mb. This is to prevent spam attacks and the server constantly downloading hundreds of megabytes, slowing down email support for everybody. I'm not sure what Ableton's limit is, but its either less than 20 or you own email service doesn't allow such big mails to go out.

At any rate, its not impossible to send Ableton big files. If that 20mb pack was generated after a crash, it probably has more details than you can recall and therefore a very vital file.

They found one bug thanks to your reports so far. You can't argue with results.

you send it? never used it.. i ve to register and so on ther to send a file?

dont you have any ableton mail adresses than can handle a few mb? or an ftp?

i dont know if the files maybe stil are somewher in my mail folder... ,..

i ve a new too big file now for the copy/paste bug..

crashing performance is much better in 8.1 so.. so maybe its solved and you dont need the old alps anyway..or?

i am not very happy about the new file format.. i stick in an important job now with the beta and cant go back...
