Wasapi support for Windows
Re: Wasapi support for Windows
Here is a new topic on Ableton Centercode which might be better noticed by Ableton team. Once somebody told that they are not even reading this side. You can also vote for features so please register/go there and vote for WASAPI:

Re: Wasapi support for Windows
thx a lot, I will give it a try. It must be possible to use the standard audio interface from Windows in the future.

Looks like nope. FlexASIO is a good alternative to to ASIO4ALL, also free. As mentioned earlier, FL Studio provides a universal ASIO driver that can be had for free by installing the FL demo. It would be better if Live would support WASAPI though. It's 2022. It's time.

Probably in 5-6 years, when Microsoft has upgraded to something else.Scoox wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 12:31 amLooks like nope. FlexASIO is a good alternative to to ASIO4ALL, also free. I actually sold my copy of a Ableton and lack of this was a factor. When I know I’m not going to be recording, I was a decent audio stack that doesn’t involve an interface. I want to be able to plug a pair of headphones in and do what I want.
This is possible with DAWs like Studio One, REAPER or Cakewalk… but still some DAWs are holding out. At this point in time, I’m eliminating them as options altogether. Even Pro Tools supports this, and Avid isn’t exactly generous in that area. That’s how far behind Ableton is.
Ended up reselling my license. Don’t regret it. This was a major factor. My PC Laptop is now as portable as my MBP due to a change in DAW.

I guess FlexAsio can do the job. Once installed you can choose Wasapi. Gonna etst it now based on this video

Haven't tried yet but FlexASIO seems to be a big improvement. Anyway user should not need to install additional component for a simple tasks as using Ableton in low latency and using Youtube simultaneously (e.g. for music composing tutorials). So there is still a need for native WASAPI support.
Re: Wasapi support for Windows
For Live 12 beta users, does it support WASAPI on Windows, in addition to ASIO ?
Re: Wasapi support for Windows
+1
I would like to keep using Ableton and not definitely switch to Bitwig.
