Do you navigate controls with the arrow keys?

Post by Gerhard » Mon Jul 15, 2002 11:44 am

Hi all,

for a change, we consider *removing* a feature from Live: the ability to jump between controls with Cmd-Arrow and to jump between screen areas with Alt-Arrow. This has been in since version 1.0, has never been worked for all parts of the interface (for instance, the effects), and costs us considerable work to maintain.

I was wondering if anybody is actually using this. Please let me know if so.

Well, to be honest, it just takes too much time to get to the right parameter with the arrow keys. It's definitely faster with mouse/ trackpad.
I won't miss the feature.
In return, make Live altivec aware :-) (cheap shot sorry..)

I'm using it  I don't use a mouse during performances. I hate mouses :) Why would you remove it ? If it will add another *great* feature, I wouldn't mind so much. But right now I definitely use it - so I would like to keep it.

Don't kill it !!!

Hi,

Well, I'm just writing a completely new tune, and once again I noticed that it would be a big miss if you take out the alt-ctrl keys ... please don't do it !!! The people who are saying "kill it" are probably just starting to explore Live, since they don't understand how useful it is. If you kill it, it would be a big miss to a lot of people when they finally learn to use Live in a real live situation. I don't want to switch windows with my mouse, I want to have shortkeys for that. And the alt-ctrl keys are exactly what I need.

PLEASE DON'T LEAVE IT OUT !!
