I'm currently working on designing a new Ableton Live Keyboard (qwerty) - a little like this one
- and would like to hear you pro users what you think of this idea:
1. Since there is no direct shortcuts (they're all Ctrl/Cmd, Alt/Opt, shift etc. modifiers) default for Ableton Live 9, I would like to use the direct key-shortcut (the lower colored part of the key) to illustrate the Ableton Live supported keyboard midi controller feature (W,E,T,Y,U,O and A-L) instead and still show the modifier shortcuts with their modifier-color-dots on the upper half of the key. Would it be a good idea to use the key-colors to highlight the keyboard midi controller?
2. Since their is no direct shortcuts on the numeric part of the keyboard, I would like to paint the keys 1-9 in various different colors just to give it a launchpad/slot/clip-like look and feel. The point would be to provide the user with "empty" backlit-colored keys to map as the user sees fit. Would this be a usefull idea, you think?
Thank you - I hope this is explained clear enough:)
