Beat Repeat wishes (design bugs)
Beat Repeat wishes (design bugs)
1. (As written several times)
Let the beat repeat swing!
2. Gate needs to be how many repeats not in 16th. Right now you cannot work with triplets correctly, because 2 triplets are neither two 16ths nor three. Design mistake!
3. If the interval is set to more than one bar, the offset must be adjustable to further than 16/16 of course! This is a design mistake as well.

...and sync to odd meters.
Beat Repeat is such an awesome effect, it deserves some polish!

Re: Beat Repeat wishes (design bugs)
+1 for beat repeat expansion! great effect, but falls into cliches right now
Re: Beat Repeat wishes (design bugs)
+1!!!!! it could be a much better tool than it is now, specifically, we need more options for repeating parts more organically and out of order. much in the same way you would
1)take a loop and paste it a bunch of times in session view, in one track
2)set beat 1 at different points for each copy
3)then set the clips to legato
4) set the follow actions on the clip to launch any every 16th
this works really well for glitching/repeating a sample/loop but it takes way too long to set up and is much harder if not impossible to express yourself in real time than a couple of knobs would be, you know?

I have no clue how this got left out, did someone at ableton decide people would only want to pitch down retrigs?

Once again, pitching up is impossible. That's logical.

Anyway, BR should work in sync in other time signatures than 4/4, please...

why is that?chapelier fou wrote:Once again, pitching up is impossible. That's logical.
theres plenty of buffer plugins that plays back from the buffer pitched up, not to mention max patches.

Re: Beat Repeat wishes (design bugs)
Think of it, pitching up means speeding. A buffer can only reproduce a past sound. If it plays to fast, it will go faster than the music itself, which is impossible. The only solution would be time stretching.

yeah, and why is that a problem? i mean, lives whole idea is time stretching and warping audio, so yeah.. timestretch it is then.chapelier fou wrote:Think of it, pitching up means speeding. Re: Beat Repeat wishes (design bugs)
or just play it faster? I mean why not? WHen it is pitching down it plays it back slower and nobody is complaining about that...
Just play it faster and repeat it...
