the group tracks work well but theres no reason to see a miniaturized view or all the data in group track. it doesnt seem to serve any purpose, it just makes the arrange view hard to understand if you have a large number of group tracks. i would like to see just one block, like in the session view. taking it further, it makes more sense to have a dummy clip in track channel that can be copied, cut and paste. it would save having to open the channel to make changes to the arrangement.

OOooooh yea. It would make arranging a huge orchestral recording soooo much easier, if they were movable and even more, editable in some small way (like crossfades).
Did you know that you can select a certain area inside the group track when you select some other track too and then move the whole selection and the track inside the group track moves too? But it's not possible to edit them alone. I asked about this during the beta and they said it's not a feature at the moment, it's more like a side effect. But hopefully they add some group-clip-editing in future versions (or even updates...)

even if the simple editing wasnt possible. i would still prefer to see a single cross hatched clip in the channel - like in the session view when the track is closed. i wouldnt expect micro editing. but to be able to copy 4, 8 and 16 etc bar phrases etc should be doable and very helpful.
it isnt any help when you can see 10 little multi coloured dots in the track view.

+1 (and 'nameable') the way groups are implemented at the moment is only for a bulletpoint on the box…

This is one of the most unbelievable, missing and frustrating aspects in the Arrange page ! Who does not want to duplicate contents from a group ? i mean if you don't there should just be a lock function. Grouping channels is already a late arrival to Live and to not have this is really annoying .. !
