Clip automation alternatives or bypass function

Example is a bass loop with no pitch changes in the original file. Then add some pitch changes in clip automation to make things interesting..

As it is now if you want to bypass or change the pitch automation live the mouse is the way, a bit clumsy and could easily miss key some notes...

If there was a bypass option we could turn the pre programmed pitch mod on and off or better still have a number of pre programmed alternatives to choose from, automatable of course and perhaps with random selection parameters as well as midi assigns..

Sure we could just copy the clip and use follow actions etc. but that takes up more precious screen real-estate and if like me you play live on a 13' macbook space is a big thing...
