Convolution Reverb
Convolution Reverb
convolution Reverb plug in integrated into Ableton live.It wouldn't need to be top specs, because there are some top convolution cds that could be bought like http://www.numericalsound.com/hollywood ... onses.html
Re: Convolution Reverb
+1 for a Converb ;p
currently using the free reverberate LE
with the free Acousticas - Bricasti M7 IR's
and the free Lexicon IR's from Signaltonoize
the quality is ridiculous High for a completely free set like this 1.

Re: Convolution Reverb
+1-1
(ok... I take my word back after I found reverberate)

Re: Convolution Reverb
Convolution is a really cool concept that generates some even cooler sounds. It's a shame it doesn't exist in Live; it would make my sound designing desires so much easier to achieve.
Re: Convolution Reverb
There is already one good cross platform, zero latency, easy on the cpu and cheap convolution reverb there that you can add to your setup called Reverberate. I'd prefer Ableton to focus on the daw functions instead of dublicating stuff that already exists.
Re: Convolution Reverb
+1 for a convolution reverb!
Re: Convolution Reverb
I was thinking about this today.. Would be nice.

Re: Convolution Reverb
You can buy decent convolution reverb from many developer. Get them.
Re: Convolution Reverb
If Live were to get a new reverb I would prefer a good algorithmic reverb over a convolution reverb.
Convo 'verbs are only as good as their impulses, and many manufacturers have invested time and effort into creating good high bit-depth impulse libraries. Providing a native convo verb with a relatively limited amount of impulses and only a handful of parameters would invite negative comparison with the leaders in this field. Why would we settle for a cut-down version of this technology, which only works well when it operates at full stretch.
I personally prefer the flexibility of an algorithmic reverb, nobody ever complained about the limitations of their Quantec Yardstick or their Lexicon , and surely we can meet the processing requirements of a 20 year old hardware device by now?
Perhaps Ableton can license an algo from somewhere.

Re: Convolution Reverb
I don't necessarily want to use it as a reverb + should we maybe ask the good people of ableton to throw out all of the fx and instruments just because there are a thousand other companies who make decent EQ's, reverbs, delays, synths, etc?
i just like the idea that ableton live offers me all the necessary processing techniques in one package. if i need a better compressor, i'll find one, but at least there's one that does the job. practical when you are collaborating with other people.
but i agree, next to convolution, an additional algorithm in the existing reverb would be nice too.
cheers,
L

Re: Convolution Reverb
anybody know if there's a max for live convolution reverb patch?
it'd be nice to have a native abes convo plugin that would let you drag/drop samples from the clip view into the convo(like you can do with looper)... also when you 'collect all and save' it would move the ir .wavs in the samples folder so open the project years later you don't have to say "uh, where did i put that one .wav file again?"
i have to work on multiple computers/platforms with the same project and this is another rant for 3rd party convo plugins: that they all use absolute pathing to the ir's and so i have to "re-find" the samples every time (osx doesn't have a c:/).. totally annoying...

Why not collaborating with liquidsonics for Live 9?
the GUI looks a bit the same, they offer 32 & 64 Bit plus PC & Mac versions...
Tested Reverberate today and it sounds beautiful!
