Sample Offset enhancement

Post by poly915 » Wed Dec 15, 2004 8:56 am

The [Clip: Sample Offset] envelope is one of my favorite features in Live. I've really come to enjoy using IT rather than shuffling beats using a REX player in Reason. It has one shortcoming though; you can only offset a 16th note up to eight 16th note segments backward or forward. This means that you can only have "full offset access" to all segments within 1 bar loops. If you are working with a loop of 2 or more bars (which I almost always do) you can not offset to or from ANY 16th note; only 16th notes within eight segments of the original.
Just today I was working with a 4 bar loop that had a great clap sound on the backbeat of the third bar. Oh, how I would have loved to offset that clap to the same position in the first bar
Ableton programmers; please allow the [Clip: Sample Offset] envelope to be dragged up and down (like the [Clip: Transposition] envelope) to access more levels of offset.

thanks
!P!
