Deleting Clips with APC40

Post by jkung » Wed Dec 29, 2010 3:47 am

How great would it be, if you wanted to delete a clip, you just hold down the APC button for that clip for maybe 3 seconds? Seems pretty easy to implement

In session view, undo doesn't undo the last recording ie the clip is still there. That is why i need this feature. Less mousing the better.

or holding down shift and hitting a button?

either way you're right.. we need an easy clip delete..

Undo is a terrible work around, if you're doing any knob twiddling or anything it will take FOREVER to undo the clip because you have to go back through all those knob twists..

How about shift but clip button selects clip to bring it to view in the bottom pane, hold it down for the count of two beats and it deletes it?

Working on it for the next version of Isotonik in max4live

Cheers

isnt there a controller than has a touch pad that you can use as a mouse on your screen along with the apc40 hooked up while ableton is going? I saw this once but had no idea what i was looking at. so, its possible to have a peripheral that actually integrates with the program and provides you a touch pad for interacting with the screen, which i would love cause i hate the damn mouse. would definitely help to take away some of the cheater feel for someone who has gone completely digital.

M=AUDIO Xponent has a mouse pad right on the device, there was a toggle to switch between mouse and x/y pad, pretty awesome.
