Global Macro controls/ global control signal buss.

perhaps there could be a set of "global macros" where, for example, one macro knob could control elements from an instrument and elements from a reverb return.

this could run on some kind of buss for global control signals. one could have say LFOs or Envelope Followers on one channel control any parameter in any live device. this could greatly expand the use of "sidechain" style effects and eliminate the need for clunky "dummy clips"

also this would help with modular synthesis. using audio signals to modulate various parameters could lead to some out there synthesis...

I'm coming from reason and fruity loops and this is the only thing i've missed in the years since i made the switch.
