Right click on a parameter -> "Add an LFO"

Post by onosendai » Tue Jan 11, 2011 11:19 am

I really miss the opportunity to add an LFO on every parameter. Automation are not always easy to set up (by real time recording or programming). Adding a real time cyclic modulation would be nice (and funky).

Do you see the "Midi" and "Key" button in the upper right section of the interface ? I dream about a new "LFO" button. Push it and it will bring you the list of all the LFO already assign. There you can choose LFO frequency, waveform and all the usual LFO stuff.

This is good, but I'd rather it went further than that - right click parameter, "add LFO" AND another option "modulate via sidechained audio source"

LFO for VST's as well.

I picture something that sits nice in the effect rack.

or a step sequence! ;-)

there probably IS a way to do this with routing,

I think I also saw a Max plug in which does it?

but easier is better!

they ought to have a window like the groove window that stores active LFOs for a session

I think a new clip properties box would be an appropriate place?

edit:
on the other hand; why not a dedicated device?

Because its a lot cleaner to have all the lfos on a list. Like the macros, or the midi learn system. Like macros you could have them control more then one parameter, anywhere. Not only inside one track, which is the limitation of macros.

One step closer to an ergonomical modular system, imo.

ableton dont support LFO´s , really , as nonsense as this seems is true.
