This feature makes too much sense, so don't expect to see it...EVER.

You could always customise the keys on the keyboard (or your mouse/whatever if you buy a gaming-keyboard or gaming-mouse) to specific commands in ableton via third-party software.

Here are the shortcuts I use:

⌘9 Launch Live 9, switch focus from Automap to Live, hide Automap

⌘Q9 Quit Live 9 and Automap

F3 Zoom In

F4 Zoom Out

⌥1 Focus in browser

⌥2 Focus Detail View

⌥3 Focus main View

⌥4 Focus Master Track

⌥. Browser (Session and Arrange, focus in Browser)

⌥L Detail View (Session and Arrange)

⌥I Routing (ditto)

⌥M Mixer (ditto)

⌥S Sends (Session only)

⌥R Returns (Session and Arrange)

⌥O Overview (ditto)

⌥C Clip View (Session and Arrange, open only, use ⌥L to close)

⌥T Track View (ditto)

⌥E Expand MIDI/Audio Editor to full screen

⌥⌃E Collapse back

⌥H Hide large Spectrum/EQ Eight window

⌥⌃S Open Browser, scroll to custom folder of choice, open, move focus over into Content Pane

⌥D Device Slots (use options txt to set up)

⌥DD Device Menu

Tutorial here
Automate routine tasks in Live 9 and assign them to custom shortcuts

Sorry this is mac only, and requires iKey which is $30, but macableton readers get 30% discount. I do not make any profit from this offer. You many be able to do the same thing with Autohotkey in Windows. Max for Live may also be capable of something similar.

I haven't tried it yet, but on osx you can make your own custom keyboard shortcuts. This might help some people....

I used to use OSX customisation for F3 = Zoom In, F4 = Zoom Out, but they stopped working in the beta and Live 9 release, so I used the same method as all my other custom shortcuts.

many people are just tired solving things brainiacs did not solve and finding workarounds while many things we found amazing they change for no reason. there are softwares that do already all i need, like studio one, and it does it fast - my 10 custom 1 button commands and i'm good. maybe it is time to ask ableton: LIVE 9 WILL OR WILL NOT HAVE CUSTOM COMMANDS ? personally i could do anything with live 6, sampler, custom commands and 64bit. i don't need all that crap they added later. so LIVE 9 WILL OR WILL NOT HAVE CUSTOM COMMANDS ?

For some reason by the way, on my mac at least, I can't do certain custom shortcuts the 'normal' way any more. I used to have Zoom as F3/F4, done via standard mac methods, but they stopped working in Live 9, so I had to use iKey. Anyone else noticed anything like that?

Gosinisha, nice to see people from China on here!

+1

I simply want to map ALT+Mouse Wheel to ZOOM and Home key to move the VIEW AND POINTER to the Start and END key VIEW AND POINTER to the END of the selection.

Argh! Still no mouse scroll wheel zoom in Live 9! What are they thinking??? It would enhance the workflow a lot for what I am guessing is minimal effort on their part. Really frustrating. :x :x :x

It rolls and feels smooth to the touch. It massages your pointer and middle finger - at the same time. Touch pad users are mystified by it.
