Not sure if this one has been suggested or not.
When i am putting together a track I am always taking notes. I have a note pad and a white board i use.

I think it would be sweet if there was some kind of note pad in ableton live.
You could:
Make notes on mastering ideas
you could write in ideas as you get them
put together signal flow or flow charts

I guess its all things you can do with Numbers or Pages or excel and word. but i think it would be cool

This is one of my main wishes, too. The possibility to enter simple, plain text notes and connect them to points in the timeline. So if you record a song and then listen to it, you can make little notes like "this need to be longer" or "the fade should begin here" or stuff like that.

Maybe like Soundcloud does it, so the notes would be visible in the timeline wherever you entered them. A complete list in addition to this would be ideal, of course.

1+ for this!

I can't understand why DAW's don't have this?! it would awesome to have annotoations and clip notes, for example, like in Excel you can add cell notes...

Try searching the manual for "info text".

Might not suit you perfectly but it's better than nothing. edit info text on locators to place notes at points on time line.
