There's a lot of cool stuff in Ableton Live! One major thing to improve is that you cannot map a Shift button in Ableton Live though. This program really lacks the ability to include modifiers into the mapping structure!
1,2 or 3 modifiers would already be a great step. Maybe even 9 modifiers that can have 10 numbers each like in Native Instruments Traktor.
Please, our friends in Berlin! Give this a go!
Modifiers for the MIDI mapping!!!
Re: Modifiers for the MIDI mapping!!!
+1
the current midi mapping possibilities are pretty poor so we can't use shift function etc...

Re: Modifiers for the MIDI mapping!!!
Always when I switch between Traktor and Ableton Live I hardly miss shift button options. Hope this will be introduced with Ableton Live 9!

Re: Modifiers for the MIDI mapping!!!
I make this request a lot in various threads.
Traktors Midi Preferences and mapping abilities are light years ahead of any current DAW.
NI has really embraced what "performance" is based on the current stock of controllers like the APC40.
Not only would modifiers be a wonderful upgrade for Live's mapping, but the ability to map multiple hardware controls to a single parameter with varying values.
Also, the various options for buttons and knobs, i.e toggle, hold, direct, encoder sensitivity, etc...
PLUS the ability to export the mappings.
In relation to Traktor, Ableton Live's midi prefs/browser values is a primitive concept.
I hope they show out with Live 9.
