Plugin Manager

Post by xmod » Sun Aug 26, 2012 6:42 pm

In a famous concurrent DAW I can manage plugins simply using this process:
1. create plugin instance inside the daw
2. select target folder inside their integrated browser
3. click on "snapshot" button (name hence it creates also a screenshot with the shortcut)

In Ableton Live this a very long process at the moment.

To create shortcuts I currently do this:
1. Find the plugin in the VST-Folder using Windows File Explorer
2. Create a shortcut
3. Rename this shortcut so that It does not include "Verknüpfung mit" in the name
4. Cut it
5. Navigate to the destionation Folder
6. Paste it

Each step involves multiple mouse clicks and maybe even keyboard input.

I can not understand why a programm with version 8 still requires this torture from its users.

This is something where I am really unhappy with Ableton Live.
I need a program that is fast and helps me being creative in my small free time.
Live meets this description pretty well except when it comes to managing the plugins, then it is just underdeveloped.

I have bought Live 4 months ago and I have 377 plugins. For me its quite impossible in my small freetime to have time to sort my plugins with the current method. In the concurrent daw this is not a problem.
I wish live would be better in managing plugins. Live needs an integrated manager to quickly sort plugins.
