Ability to add "negative time" in timeline

Hey all,

Would be very handy to be able to change (lengthen) the timeline in Arrangement view to accomodate "negative time."

I'm referring to how You can manipulate the timeline in Logic.

I realize this may cause issues with scene-launching, but I'm sure there could be a workaround (enable/disable feature perhaps?)

Thanks.

Also very necessary in post pro video, called pre roll time.

If I want a sound start earlier then 0:00:00:00, then I need it.
Time of video matches with timeline in arrangement view.
If you start the video at lets say 10 seconds,
you will have an offest of video TC and arrangemnt TC!

A pre-roll-time would solve this problem!

Ability to have a preview on a video track would be so handy...

Has Ableton or any moderator spoken to this in the past 2 years at all? This would be most helpful!!

It's been awfully quiet around here... not even a hint of improved video workflow in the beta's.

Right now I'm working on a remix where the vocals have a reverse effect before they begin, and I would like to have them start at my remix's first bar.

Negative time would be much better, since I now can't use 8/1 resolution - I have to use 1/1 resolution and count 8 bars instead. It's not a dealbreaker, but it just feels unnecessary not being able to do it.

I saw a video on how to go negative in arrangement view's timeline a few years ago. I'm trying to learn how to do it again, but I can't find the video. So many Ableton, videos on Youtube. If any one knows how, give us a heads up! If I find the video I'll let you know.

Maybe this one? https://youtu.be/aUlAaNRuYVM

I really need the proper feature, though. I hate starting my song at Bar 9 or Bar 17, and even if I adjust for that and deduct those 16 bars from my consideration, it's much harder to adjust for the discrepancy on the Time Ruler — I can't know at a glance how long my song is.

Negative measure used to be a basic feature when I used Logic going back to the '90s, and I can't understand what problem Ableton is solving by refusing to let us do this in Live.
