I definitely wouldn't mind dual monitor-support. Wonder if we could rewire live 8 to live 9 (as I'm using them both at the same time now). Never mind how it's set up, I'd like it either way. The best would have to be able to customise it.

Hi vido, The reason why I didn't go with that option is because, rather than users being able to pop windows here and there and moving everything, Ableton seems to like to have a simple controlled environment. So I made a few simple layouts that follow the current workflow of Live.

I should also point out. If you vote yes to the mixer or dual monitor support. These are just options. They wouldn't be a forced way to use Live. You would still be able to use Live as you currently do. There are 5 examples above, they might take a minute to load.

this is how it should be done:

Is the solution for one screen laptop and multi screen studio setups.
Re-arrange-able panes, with screenset snapshots means multiple midi editors on one screen. It means two mixers one one screen. It means hide the things you don't need while on stage on your one screen. It means customise your one screen for live laptop use.
It also means placing panes into more than one screen.
Same interface as now, but you can move the panes about, and save the positions into snapshots.

If I could see the Clips at the same time as looking at the Arrangement,
I wouldn't ever need to use any other DAW.
Inversely: Not being able to see my
Clips / Mixer and Arrangement during recording and playback,
really negates their value.
"Where am I in the song?..[TAB key, flip back and forth, flip again, compare, flip again]...
when is that coming? flip, flip, when should I fade that up? [flip]..
Forget it, I'll just drag these things into the Arrangement as though it were the AudioBin, easier.
But where's the mixer? [flip, flip, flip...]
Dual monitors would be a life-changer. or..heehee..a Live-changer

have you checked out my max for live devices that I created specifically with the session/arrangement issue in mind? It does it both inside Live's single window, or as a floating window.
