I would prefere a higher resolution than nativ retina in any case.

Have my New MacBook Pro Retina since last week, and was shocked first starting Ableton about this Bad Resolution!!

So Please, give us some Infos. Is there something in progress??

+1 for live needing to update this.

I can't believe how bad it looks on a retina display. I assume they would have to change the way it all scales for retina and 4k, so it might be a bigger update than we imagine. Hopefully not version 10 though.

Its really disappointing to see that they did dual monitor support before they did high resolution support. High resolution is exactly what live needs.

The Ableton interface is fairly simple as well. Shouldn't be to long of a fix. But that would mean they would actually have to care what their customers think...

... and everyone knows how much they loathe and abhor customers.

They're probably holding out for Live 10, which sucks. Live 9 costs a lot of money.

I would also wager there's some issues with pixel accurate mouse selections and retina-fication. it may not be as easy as just "turning on" the retina resolutions. there might also be an issue with the way Retina Macbook's render the screen twice to make the desktop appear bigger.

All the experts in this thread say it's really easy, so it must be true. The only logical conclusion is that Ableton fuckin hates you all.

Please implement it!

Pretty soon retina is the only option Apple is going to provide its customers. With Apples consumer base growing, I don't know how long they can hold out without updating Ableton to function on a retina display. TBH, I am amazed I've put up with it this long.

Yeah, this has gone way too far, it's starting to get awkward.
I'm actually really annoyed by the ugly look of Live on my MBPr; thought I wouldn't be at first, but here I am.
I sometimes even prefer opening Logic, MainStage, or even Garageband to come up with quick ideas or access inspiration.

I absolutely love the workflow, and features of Live 9, all I need is those crispy flawless graphics.
