At 3840 x 2160 on windows 8.1 It doesn't scale correctly on high DPI

Is there a reason Ableton decided to exclude windows? I understand that retina displays are becoming the norm on mac but I shouldn't have to install OSX Yosemite just to get the added benefit for my 4k display.

Reddit topic on the issue = http://www.reddit.com/r/ableton/comment ... k_display/

Please include support for Windows 8.1 if not then this is the only reason I would attempt a to install Yosemite on my system thus making it a hackintosh which isn't supported in most cases on the x99 platform :\

Text still a little 'soft' compared to other retina fonts
Text is fixed in the 9.1.7b2 we just deployed.

(beta is available here : https://ableton.centercode.com

On Mac each window (i.e. each plugin window as well) is handled independently, so this means plugins not handling HiDPI will get upscaled by the Mac operating system, so you'll be able to use them, but they will be pixelated, which is fine, and which is why Ableton can support HiPDI on Mac.

Windows handles HiDPI on a per application basis, so this means that Ableton could easily support it on Windows, and draw everything just like they do on Mac (at twice the size and then look like the regular size because of the pixel density). But for plugins things are very messy, since non HiDPI aware plugins will be drawn at half the size so be pretty much unusable.

Cytomic plugins work just fine in all hosts that support HiDPI, Mac and Windows, and also offer resizable user interfaces, largely thanks to the Juce plugin framework.

What about Windows 10?
