I guess you can consider these CORRECTIONS not "Features"

Post by 0neTwo0neTwo » Sat May 18, 2013 5:42 pm

I tried to email support with my findings after doing all the lessons and reading the whole manual. I thought they would appreciate it, however it seems to me that they were just bothered by it. They told me to come here to the forum and post it here to see if anyone here would care about it I guess.

Im not bitter, I LOVE ABLETON - I just wish my time and research would have been appreciated a little bit more by them.

anyways here goes

Introducing Operator Lesson (p.7/12)
-nasal pitch scoop pad is in the “Pad” folder not the “Synth Pad” folder, that folder
does not exist.

5.5.3 (in the Manual)
Exporting Session Clips as New Sets
“Alt/option” modifier for selecting more than one Session View Clip
it is actually “Command” modifier for me

M4L Pluggo (p.2/2 “About Pluggo)
“Shepard Tones” is listed as being in the “Audio Effects” section
actually dound in the “Max Instruments” section in the browser
Audio Effect “Nebula” needs to be bolded like all the others

Kutmaster Kurt Pack information
“Beasty Boys, Dilated People” incorrect spellings for both

Using Automation Lesson (p.6/11)
To adjust the curve it says to hold the Command modifier
for me it is actually the option key (corrected in the Manual/wrong in lessons)

(p.10/11)
No mention of having to arm the track itself before pressing Session Record in
order to record clip automation

(p.88 Manual) 1st paragraph
Launching clips in Session View with the Shift Key/ only the Enter or Return key works.

(p.90) 4th paragraph
Control + Up and Down arrow keys to move non adjacent scenes
>Command + Up and Down arrow keys is what works for me

(p.141) Editing Notes
-extending or retracting the duration of selected MIDI notes Shift + Up and Down
-i believe that is for transposing by octave
-for me what works is Shift + Left and Right arrow keys to extend and retract

(p.196) To move non adjacent tracks without collapsing use Control + the arrow keys
-it’s Command + the arrow keys for me

(p.263 19.5) It’s funny how the unfold buttons appear to be pointing straight up like a regular triangle, I cant get mine to look like that no matter how long i try

(p.268 TO NOTE) edit commands for envelopes require the Shift modifier

(p.369 Last Paragraph)
the range for my shift knobs is displayed with decimal points not percentages as shown in the picture or as described by the description.

(p.384 Last paragraph)
Loop Modes Off,AD-R, ADR-R, ADS-AR
TYPO - first three modes are fine but in the manual it is listed as ADS-R mode

also, under Level Mod, right hand side Env, there is no mention of its function in the manual or how to enable it as it is greyed out. When hovered over with the mouse there is improper information in the text box, it says it is a device.

TO NOTE: If running in 64bit mode the ReWire Slave also has to be in 64bit mode in order to be recognized

Auto Filter - saw tooth up is missing its leg

hopefully someone will notice this and take my findings into consideration and get back to me

Thank You for this awesome AWESOME software!!!

Speaking of spelling pedantry, "dound" is spelled found. (All in good fun :))
