This is very quickly going from silly into outright embarrassing.

This is really sad. More and more vendors have moved their latest products to VST3 and it's only a matter of time before they start sunsetting the older ones. Fom what I've seen there's no word from Ableton either? Not even a broad "second half of 2016" type statement?

As someone said above, this is starting to be just sad.

Yup - bumping this. Some of my plugins are no longer supporting VST2 and only have VST3 or audio unit. Since I go back and forth between mac and pc, I need the VST3 support so that projects transfer ok :(

Exactly!

I can't believe that this software still doesn't support VST3 already...

I'm guessing this will be in Ableton 10.

I think they could implement it but (hopefully) they are taking their time to make it right and improving their infrustructure as well to better allow for the full capabilities of VST 3.0.

It does alot and Ableton could implement it with none of the features people would want (e.g. sidehaining, multiple midi I/O, Note Expression, Smart processing of plug-ins).

I'm pretty sure they know this is a big item especially since there is now a healthy list of DAWs that support this now and all it would take is for a big VST company like NI to start supportting it and even more Ableton will start wondering why Live doesn't have this.

That said NI knows there is a huge market for 2.4 and going 3 for them would probably hurt them just as bad if not worse. They are probably just waiting for all of the manufacterers to adopt this before going 3.0.

But at some point VSTs manufacturers will be on 3 and done with 2.

I'm sure there are real struggles though going to v3. U-he just had to pull the VST3 version of Zebra out because of issues implementing it.

VST3 would be great and is well overdue.

A new DAW, Lumit, came out. $149 It can use VST3s. Ableton Live still cannot.

Such a shame that people have been asking for VST3 support for 3 years now with no joy. I could really do with this, and I can't afford to switch DAWs.

No sign of life from Ableton yet I assume... A shame. I don't want to pay for an upgrade to 10 just to run new plugins. (Assuming v.10 will have support for it, which seems uncertain.)
