New clip from selection

As a sound designer, I love using Live's session view to get a bunch of ideas down fast. Sometimes, I have more than one sound on a single clip (especially if I've imported from my field recorder). When I'm making music, I sometimes want to take a clip apart and build a beat/soundscape/vocal part from a single recording. As it is, there's no way (that I know of) to create a clip easily from a section of the selected clip. Right now, I have to drag the file into the arrange view and do some crafting, or duplicate and crop the clip for each sound.

You know what? Fuck that stupid noise. Right click -> Create new clip from selection. It would make everyone's life better. World peace. Total harmony. Come on, Ableton. Why do you hate world peace so much?

Don't forget about the 'resample' option in the input section, as well. (if this helps)

Yeah, I resample a lot, but that involves having an extra audio track. Inevitably, that audio track ends up with an effects rack I like, and so I make a new resample track. My life becomes inundated with audio tracks.

Can't you just copy the clip to the next row and edit it there?

Yeah. I do that several dozen times per night.
