Alias/Ghost/Mirror Clips Petition!

I know this has been brought up before...but I feel like I need to speak my mind:

Alias clips especially in arrange (and equally as useful in session) view...you know what I'm talking about, you make a change in one clip and all the "child/alias" clips get that change. Like Logic, and every other DAW on the planet has had for a zillion years.

Ableton, no disrespect but we have all been waiting 10 years for this...and seriously it is LONG overdue. We are not asking for some bizarre, obscure, "auto tune knob per channel" feature or something, this is really, really, basic kit.

This one has literally brought me to tears on more than one occasion. I would trade 300 other features, new and old, for this one basic feature.

It won't be confusing for anybody, it is a perfectly well understood paradigm within the music DAW community...

I really don't care that it is hard to implement, sorry guys, but it is time to focus and get it done...

Please, please, my friends and colleagues, if you see this, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO +1 me on this and get some more momentum going on this one.

I'd also like to have this somehow tied to the original clip that may have been used to sequence the arrangement so that you can simply change the clip and have it change in arrangement (possibly a context menu to copy changes to arrangement). Always seemed counter intuitive to me to have clips that could create your arrangement but were not linked in any way.

If you have Max4Live, check out the new device bei J.Garcia. It works for midi clips only, but it´s working very well.

That's real good work but not like the way it works in Logic. With Logic you only have to Shift-Option any midi clip and boom, you have an alias clip that exactly mirrors the original clip. More convenient imo.

I'm the creator of the device, thanks for checking it out. Unfortunately it's not possible with Max for Live to have such a convenient function, but if you just add a clip once to the group all the copies you make of that clip will also be Aliases. I tried to make it as convenient as possible but I guess we could always wait for Ableton to listen to our cries and implement it, maybe they'll also add support for aftertouch, allow multiple MIDI channels within tracks, put a refresh button on the browser, have the scroll wheel do anything beyond the most basic functionality etc.. One can always dream...
