I recently switched to Ableton Live Suite for making music for video games. I am surprised that it lacks an integrated score (sheet music) editor.
While there is a Max plug-in called LiveScore/MaxScore, it doesn't work well at all. And to add insult to injury, if you want to keep using it after 30 days you have to donate money to some Commie Java group! Evidently the programmers couldn't be bothered learning C++ and OpenGL like everybody else...
Anyway, a score editor would make working with complex, orchestrated pieces much easier.

Orchestration is something I would like to get into eventually, so it would be nice if Live had such capabilities.

Re: Need a Score Editor
The market is saturated with solutions for this, Ableton wouldn't bring much to the party for the effort it would take. You might see if anyone has had any success with midi exporting to one of the music notation products on the market such as Sibelius.

Re: Need a Score Editor
This feature would have been useful for me a few days ago when I was transferring a small amount of sheet music to Live. It would have made it easier to enter and verify the two were identical.

or, on the other hand, "this is something that all other DAWs have and Live doesn't", which kinda sucks. Is it actually so much of an effort? I think opening to "academic" music composition would not be a totally bad idea...clydesdale wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2014 3:18 pmThe market is saturated with solutions for this, Ableton wouldn't bring much to the party for the effort it would take. (and yes, I replied to a comment from 5 years ago. The fact that nothing has changed since then should also mean something)
