Remove the 12 return track limit!
I find this severely limiting. I use return tracks for effects, busses, and matrix mixes and I run out fast.

I do hope we get unlimited someday.

I use returns for headphone mixing and FX sends and I run out quickly

12 gives me 8 send return busses for fx and four for routing to an external mixer, I've found the more you add the more you add the higher w CPU so if they increase he limit its got to be at the same time as overall CPU is reduced...

I'd rather decide how much cpu to use myself.S4racen wrote:I've found the more you add the more you add the higher w CPU
Just tried a demo of bitwig. Unlimited returns. Hmmm...

That is something that Bitwig DOES have, but no way to send the audio to other (or the same) return channels for crazy feedback FX mayhem like Live (or Logic X) has.Adam Mantium wrote:

True. Plus considering I bought Push and the Suite this year it's not the best time to switch. It frustrates me a bit because I'm trying to set up Live for smaller live sound applications, and it's almost there, but the return track limit is a deal breaker in most cases. I've been looking for a max device that will mimic the effect by sending to a track through an encoder, but I don't think anyone has made anything like that. Not sure if it's possible or not.

Though you theoretically could do this in bitwig by routing your fx channel to an audio track.33tetragammon wrote:That is something that Bitwig DOES have, but no way to send the audio to other (or the same) return channels for crazy feedback FX mayhem like Live (or Logic X) has.

Here is a workaround I use for quite a while now.

For M4L users, you can use Outist/Insist to turn any audio track into a return track (plus you have the extra option to have individual pre-post sends).
