Re: Per month and per year subscriptions for ableton
Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind as long as it's not the only option available. I want to own my copy, not rent it.
Subscription would probably be nice for people who are low on cash, or who want to try it out without the demo version limitations.

per year subscriptions are bullshit. Ableton should charge by the hour.

But is there any example, anywhere, of a company that sells its software AND has a subscription for the same product?jinek wrote:That is it. Thank you! ))Idonotlikebroccoli wrote:Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind as long as it's not the only option available. I want to own my copy, not rent it.

Ok. Although, with all due respect, Office 365 isn't a very persuasive example. AFAIK the subscription is for their cloud-based package. I can't see Live working like this.
Re: Per month and per year subscriptions for ableton
oh cloud based would be so awesome, we can pay Ableton by the Megabit then.
for less than the price of a cup of coffee, you too can help a kick with a low pass filter on a server far far away.

well, it wasn't nearly as funny as actually wanting a subscription based DAW, but what is?
still, I chuckled.

Re: Per month and per year subscriptions for ableton
Subscription-based Ableton will be the unfortunate and very sad end of Ableton for me. So I don't want it to happen.
And opening up the option of a subscription is like opening up Pandora's Box.
