option for destructive edit in session clip

i'm sure this has been requested before, but i really think this ability would be a HUGE workflow improvement over dragging to arrangement, cropping/splitting, consolidating, then dragging back into session.

i'm also sure it's technically challenging to implement 'properly', but i would be happy with just an option on the clip that allowed lite destructive editing in place in session, basically doing the wonky steps for you, consolidating in the background. after your destructive edit, you could turn the option off, then re-warp if you wanted to. it seems like the ability to do a simple version of this is there, it's just ergonomically ugly.
