In live today, the devise window (where you stack your devises) is very unidirectional (linear) : you have no other choice to have devise one behind the other
With a 2D devise window, now you can have devise in parallel : you can have 1 instrument feeding multiple independent effects, multiple instruments stacked up together to create deep complex sounds... everything could be routed at will, like a modular synth, opening the door to limitless possibilities
examples of similar work-flow are Reason, minihost modular in FLStudio...
would be amazing!

Racks!
Racks can do this! With a 2D devise window, now you can have devise in parallel
Check!you can have 1 instrument feeding multiple independent effects
Yup, this too.multiple instruments stacked up together to create deep complex sounds...
OK, just about everything can be routed at will. Live's inter-track routing capabilities are some of the best.everything could be routed at will, like a modular synth, opening the door to limitless possibilities
It is!would be amazing!

Racks are fantastic! Here's an example of what can be done:
And of course, you can select that whole thing, hit ctrl+g, and have kazoo+burp+dubstep with all effects as one layer, and maybe airhorn.wav as layer 2, and donkbass+marimba+rick astley as layer 3, all with x number of parallel effects on each layer. And all of it gets triggered with one MIDI note!
