Save More Templates

Post by jeff cox » Sun Feb 07, 2016 12:31 pm

Hi Ableton,

Could we please have the ability to save more than 1 default template, alone starting a new project being able to chose which template to load. i.e a rewire template, mixing template, dj template, production template etc...

Thanks Jeff

We already have that: 5.5.4 Template Sets
Read the last paragraph and look at the image in that section.

chrk is correct.

Also, I like to use a dedicated Templates Folder which I added to my Library

+ Ableton Templates
+ Ableton Racks
+ MIDI Melodic Sequences
+ MIDI Bass Sequences
+ MIDI Harmonic Sequences
+ MIDI Rhythm Sequences

When I save my Custom Racks or Templates, I make it a 'Read-Only' file format.

Most of my Templates are 8-Track Templates, easy drag n' drop
additionally, I have lots of custom instruments.

I make a habit of manually dragging my own melodies/harmonies/rhythm tracks into respective MIDI template folders so I can always go back to that idea I had last year in a new project.
It's important to creating a naming sceme format so that its easy to organize.
Check out some of my soundtracks. Also Ableton Live Performance video.
