Hi all,
I'm a bit frustrated about drum racks.
Recording midi from the track where my DR is on, only allows to record midi that is affected by the midi effect placed before the DR – not the midi affected by the midi fx I've put on the drum pads.
I've had to route the midi with "external instrument" on each pad which I route out through IAC, and to me this should be easily achieved within Live's API.
Best regards
Midi output from Drum Rack
Re: Midi output from Drum Rack
Not sure but, isn't it possible to create a new MIDI track, and set the input to be your MIDI track with the Drum Rack on it. Select Post FX. Is this an easier workaround? Just a thought.

go in I/O chooser and send the midi to another midi track, then choose post whatever fx you want to capture in the that track. then record on that track
Re: Midi output from Drum Rack
thank for the tip, I did meanwhile find a solution:
1) Make a midi track
2) Put on a midi fx rack where you have one zone per key
3) put the Drum Rack on at the end
This way has made it easy for me to control individual pads and when I want the midi,
I just record it from the midi fx rack instead from the Drum rack.
