You can hide browser categories in Live 10. I did the entire day "Sounds" section and "Samples" because I never use them.

You cant add your own categories. You can make "collections" (or something like that). TBH I hid those as well, they are no use for what I need, but may be what you want.

I hide most categories other than the ones which relate to Plugins etc. Categories is no use for organisation, so we make folders on our drives just like Live 8, but with fewer visible attribute columns.

Yea, Live10 beta does have an 'Edit' able Browser to the extend that one can hide any of the 'Standard' groups now.
But the bigger underlying issue of the Browser not being customizable for users at all (other than that you now can hide default categories...and plonk everything into your user categories with only a single string search as a tool to find/filter things by...), and that there is a taxonomy/metadata/tag system (+ sound previews) that only Ableton themselves can use and create dives for, although even Ableton authored 3rd party devices are broken and do not sort correctly as they should as well, this should really be high on the list of priorities to fix imo.
For one, so that to 3rd party packs behave as they should as intended as well as giving us users the ability to tag/sort/find/categorize devices and sounds, default as well as 3rd party & user ones, as it makes sense to us, our workflows and different brains.

Oh, yea, there are now 7 assignable colours in form of 'Collections', but for me this is not an approach holding much promise, and even the people who requested something simple like this now complain that there are too few... which in turn shows that this is only a bad fitting band-aid, causing more work for an approach that is not thought through or future proof unlike a proper taxonomy/metadata system via api & tag or dictionary system would be imo.

I did make a topic on center code, unfortunately most users seem to have given up on the browser & half-baked taxonomy/tag/metadata system as is, and work around (or rather ignore) it on a daily basis...

Me few cents.
Churs.

Please submit a suggestion on the beta forum, maybe search to see if there's already one there you can upvote for first.
