Arrangement: deleting a part of a clip in automation mode

Please allow deleting a selected section of a clip (by pressing delete / Ctrl+X) when in automation mode. The workaround is currently, press Ctrl+E to crop the selection to its own clip, then click on that clip's header, then press delete. If pressing delete just did this automatically (and thus was in line with how you can delete a part of a clip in earlier Live versions, with just one key press), that would be swell, thanks.

I realize the reasoning for not allowing this is, the deleting action targets envelope points, even when the selection is made in the main clip container instead of a dedicated automation lane. In that sense, the design seems consistent and deliberate.

In my opinion, allowing actual clip edits on the main container, and 100% automation editing on the dedicated automation lanes, would offer a more wholesome editing experience when staying in that one view mode.

Maybe add an option for this? "Clip edits in automation mode", and when enabled, the main container would respond like this, and the dedicated lanes respond as they do now.

Cutting / deleting etc is possible in automation mode, but they made it so that you have to select the very top of the clip.

Dear Ableton, you need to fix this.
Maybe make it halfway in the clip? Bottom half = select automation only, upper half = select clip.

It's very counterproductive and slows down workflow immensely. You're making users who want to quickly cut/move/delete their clips in Automation mode, aim their mouse pointer with such precision to the VERY TOP of the clip, in order to select it.

Seriously? Adding the background color to the clips was bunk already. But not giving any option for editing with the track bars (measures and such [depending on zoom amount]) visible, come the F*** on Ableton. I would rather give up every feature you added not to deal with this. Get your head out your backside. Quit listening to noobs who cant disgusting their tracks because they did not use the included color and name options already. You have makers you can add, all kinds of things already. Why developers, why did you listen to those noobs??
