Color-coded locators
I'm currently editing a podcast, and it would be great to have color-coded locators in the arrangement view so I could easily identify different cues, say, pink locators = music fade in/out etc.
I know you can name the locators, but I think adding colors would make things a bit tidier.
Much Love

Re: Color-coded locators
+1 for colored locators in arrangement view.
I would also add the possibility to put the colored markers in the warp mode, and also to be able to insert labels on the warp markers, so as to be able to mark the points on a track (dance track) as if it were a vinyl, to memorize the intro points, loop, outro, vocal, jingle etc .. so when creating a mixtape djset we can recognize the points without listening to the track looking for the mixing points

+1. Also a background color for the marker would be nice - like the markers/locators work in Pro Tools and Logic.
Re: Color-coded locators
before that, I wish I had TIME LOCATORS, that refer to TIME and not to metronome TEMPO, so as that if you change tempo they stay still to the minute-second...
It could be of a different color and attached below (to the bottom time indication grid)
it would be useful for video syncing
or if you must create, say, a strictly 3:23 track, you put a time locator indicating the end, and then you tailor the arrangement on that limit, with the possibility of automating tempo and keeping the end time-marker still

Re: Color-coded locators
Also going to +1 this.
Right now, I'm going back to Reaper for the coloured regions which help quickly identify sections; very practical for larger projects like podcasts.
But Ableton is a much better creative tool (which I count on, because I'm often also doing the music for these projects).
Renaming the locators isn't enough, as sometimes I can have literally hundreds in a project, and their text is hidden when locators are bunched close together. Colours would help me detect which ones are which (pink for SFX, blue for Music, red for a required edit, etc etc etc).

You can use any emoticon in Locator names (and elsewhere) .
Right-click to rename the Locator then hit Win+. (Windows key and period) to open the icon list. Not sure how this works on Mac.
You've got coloured shapes and all the rest. You can mix icons and text or whatever you want. The same thing works for Collections, folders you can rename and presets, files, clips, samples,...

That's a great idea I've never thought of. Thanks! The Rabbits wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 5:00 amYou can use any emoticon in Locator names (and elsewhere) .

I'd still love the possibility to color the locators

Agree. More options would be good.
Re: Color-coded locators
Interesting. I can't seem to find this on Mac though, and it's not immediately obvious how I would do this when I right click the locator. The Rabbits wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 5:00 amYou can use any emoticon in Locator names (and elsewhere) .

This being said, for those who stumble upon this thread, I will say that I have found a workaround for the time being which might work just as well. I just create a new empty midi track at the top of my project, and insert colour-coded empty midi clips to mark off sections of the project visually. It's been working pretty well.
