Mixing in Live would be much better experience if faders had unity like in most other respected DAWs. Currently it is set at the top of the meter which significantly limits the actual useable throw of the fader and reduces its precision during mixing. Consequently it also gives us only 6 dB of gain above unity.
Most other DAWs deal with it by having meters and faders separate. That is not necessary. Live could keep its minimalistic approach. No big UI changes required. Just moving the unity of the fader down and changing its scale would be all that is needed to have a better mixer section.
