Latest Beta announcement contained following hint

"==> This is the RC for 10.1.25 <==

So, it shouldn´t take long until the final release.

ableton is a great daw for mixing, it has convenient automation, functional routing. The only thing that interferes with this process is problems with plugins related from BPM, as well as the complete inoperability of the m4l LFO / Envelope follower / etc, which are VERY needed today for mastering.
I'm sure I'm not going to change your mind but the words used to describe automation and routing are not terms you would want to use describing the mixing or mastering process. The list of features in DAWs like Logic or DP or Pro Tools have for this process that Live does not have is too long to get into. You can of course mix and master in Live and I definitely have. Flatly, any 10-18 track mostly electronic song I'm not porting stems into DP etc. to mix and master, but anything above that, I'm not staying in Live.

I'm not at all against Live getting features to improve this, but considering the gap I would hope they get things that are useful in the recording process over some attempt at catching up to the kitchen sink DAWs, things like comping make total sense, better automation etc. I mean let's be honest here, Live is never getting VCA faders, it's too specifically a recording studio need.

Yeah, but this one says "RC" which means "Release Candidate". Those are usually the ones close to official release.

Yes but for official release of 10.1.25 which does not add any substantial new features or does not hint anything about 10.2 0r 10 .5
It would go to 10.1.99 as far as we know before a serious feature update.

back when 10 was coming out there where leaks ahead, because once they beta test they're widening the scope of testers and a lot of producer/djs had screenshots and hints on instagram etc.

so far we heard nothing, so I wouldn't expect it to drop soon.
which is a shame :(

they're really dead silent, this better be good

+1

Midi editing is far to basic.
Logical edit would be great.

We have 2 options:
1. They have some problems with developers/software.

2. They’ll kick other DAW’s asses soon :)

The silence just comes across as arrogant.

I like Ableton and their politics, but their communication when it comes to new features and future updates is horrible. I bet 80% of their users don't even care about any new features, but I don't see why it would be so horrible to communicate with the pro users that are demanding and suggesting reasonable features that are sometimes relatively simple to implement.

why there only would be 7 collections for example really is not something anybody understands! there's even keys left on the number row
"8,9,0,ß,´" so at least make it 12.

Agree, to get back to your list, just my absolute favorites selection from it... ;)

++ Vocal Pitch correction (manual, cub VariAudio2 or Melodyne style, but may/should be simplified into "Ableton style")

++ Comping

+ Loudness meter device. (LUFS, RMS)

+ ADDED: Maximizer device (not just a glue compressor "make loud setting")

Scene Follow actions, for goodness sake. I mean why is this still not there? It is duch a basic request and expectation. And get rid of M4L. It is an unstable POS.

still so confusing.

Not even thinking about major new features, but Ableton has the resources to really perfect their DAW with minor usability adjustments, but for some reason they just don't.

Maybe it's really that their making so much money, that they don't dare to change anything in fear of business going down by pissing of the regular user.
