Option for Looper to stay in pitch while song tempo changes

Post by tommyfinke » Wed Nov 18, 2020 9:37 am

Hi everyone,
I am a Singer/Songwriter and using the Ableton Looper a lot, recently with the great Datalooper pedal.

I'd love to have an option for the looper to maintain its pitch while I change the song's tempo.
Now that Ableton 11 will have a dynamic tempo follow option I dream of getting rid of a steady click track and let my playing instead guide Ableton.

This, however, will lead to pitch changes with the way the Looper is working right now. And don't get me wrong, I think the Looper is great the way it is, but the technology is already built into Live, Clips can do this.

But I can't start a song with a clip recording while my first loop can start the whole thing.

TLDR: Please take a mode into consideration in which the Looper is able to follow time but keeps the pitch of it's inital recording.

:-)

Following. Would love this feature as well!

Same desire :)
It could be a similar Warp technology like it's built into the Simpler.
