Mixer+ Arrangements View
Mixer+ Arrangements View
so when you're done with sessions view and have transferred the clips to the arrangement view, and are working mostly with the mixer and arrangement.
it would be nice to have only the arrangement view and mixer on the same view. so you don't have to keep switching views.

Agreed!
I’ve also thought this for a while.
Ableton is currently more limited compared with other DAWs for exactly this reason.
The arrangement view is where you do the mixing... so the mixer should be available on the arrangement view!!!
(A pop-out mixer would be useful.)
Perhaps in Live 12?

+1+1+1+1+1
Need a separate mixer window!

Re: Mixer+ Arrangements View
Is there anyway to get feedback from Ableton about this? Or have they said why they won't add it?
Mixer in Arrangement view was asked for ten years ago (Probably before), and there were so many features in A11 that seemed lower down the priority lists than this simple feature given so many people are using Live as a DAW. A11 was 70% focussed on live performance and sound design.
I suspect few will upgrade to A11 or buy in with S1 5.2 just released with tempo match (Finally) and Logic 10.6 performance on M1 Macs.

Re: Mixer+ Arrangements View
You can open a second Ableton window in the "View" tab. Drag them over/under or side by side, then minmize everything what you dont need. So you can work with both views parallel. Alternatively you can use a second Monitor and have both views side by side in fullscreen..

Re: Mixer+ Arrangements View
We all know the Ableton Live mixer is limited compared to other daws. Live's strength is it's compact view and fast access of things and workflow.
I think the way it is already implemented is a good solution to have the mixer inspector view on the right ("M" selected) in arrangement view. All mixer settings from the Session view are available there - so you can mix already... and on the other hand just by hitting TAB the session view mixer is there instantaneously...

A more fleshed-out mixer would really improve Ableton!
Many people export and mix/master in Logic solely on the fact that Ableton doesn't have a dedicated mixing component. It's sorely missing a place where you can see all the effects you have on your tracks.
