MIDI remote control features need to distinguish the PORT the data comes in on

I have a huge problem with Live's midi remote control features.

I own a whole bunch of various control surfaces, but it has become a huge problem to use them together in Live.

For example, the APC40mk2 - which I love - is set up to emit a volume CC on channels 1-8 on the volume sliders.

I also have an old MM-16 "midi mixer", which is a device that has 16 sliders... and this too also maps them simply to volume CC on channels 1-16

Now, If I set up slider #1 on the MM16 to tweak a filter in a synth, suddenly the volume slider #1 on the APC40 stop working, and also become the filter!! This is not what I want! I want the APC40 to have it's functions intact.

But sadly, Live is only looking at the channel, and the CC, and maps that blindly. What is needed is to be able to limit MIDI remote control to only look at messages ON A SPECIFIC MIDI PORT.

So the APC40 still does what it does, and the MM16 will do what I want it to.

This is not rocket surgery, the software could easily tell from which input the MIDI data is arriving, but sadly, currently Live seem blind to it :(

Or am I wrong? Is this fixable?
