Mapping controls in a Rack can be done better
Mapping controls in a Rack can be done better
When mapping a control in an Audio or Instrument Rack to a plugin you must use these controls instead of the controls of the plugin? Why? Because when you save a Live set not the plugin settings are saved but the setting of the Rack. Imo this is wrong behavior because often you would open the pluging and change things and save the song then to find out that the song lost your settings....
Reason does this correctly in the Combinator. If you are touching the controls of a plugin instead of the controls of the Combinator those are saved in the file.
I even consider this as a bug right?

If the controls of the plugin are not exposed to Lives API they cannot be saved. A rack is a simple way of doing things for a limited number of controls but the maximum by default is 128 parameters that can be configured for the VST in the instrument window.

What I mean is that when controls are mapped and you change the parameter in the plugin this is not saved.

Which plug in are you seeing this with? I can’t reproduce here everything is saved as it should be.

I can see that too. What they mean is they map a parameter to a macro and then change the parameter in the VST GUI. When reloading the set this parameter is changed to the position of the macro.

One of the things I would like to see changed about rack controls is the ability to click and drag a macro if you want to change the order of them.\
There are times I want one of my controls to be in a different location and so far the only solution is that I have to unmap all the control from one macro and then reapply them to a different one. Simply clicking and dragging would be much easier and faster.
