infact, i want a macro type shortcut thing (anyone whos been using Reaper knows what im talking about) so i could for example setup a macro execution that goes "set 1.1.1" here", Warp by <Project Bpm Tempo>, crop sample, by hitting a single keyboard key.

Yes for more moushwheel-support, but I really do like the way the ableton live zoom works, so you can change vertical and horizontal zoom in one Mousemovement. I got used to it and it really fastens the workflow. Perhaps the mousewhjeel can be used for changing the grid size?
