time signature madness

Post by Benoski » Fri Sep 09, 2005 2:49 am

it would be so damn awesome to have a feature to change the time signature on a song, kinda like the feature on acid where you just add a marker and from that point forwards its different and so on.

i know there are a few that would like something like this, maybe... i'm not a dj tho', but i do write all my stuff in live.

i hate to have 2 files for one song, or having to keep changing the signature every time i want to work on a section. its annoying. specially since i sometimes forget to write them down. :)

anyway. thats all i think.

I agree.

Ableton : why dont you simply put it under master / mixer / song tempo in the dropdown.

it seesm daft that we can access the envelope for 'groove' which I never use, yet we cant access time signatur which is basic to music.

I quit doing Dream Theater/Rush stuff a long time ago! 8)

I agree, it is a limitation. It'll come.

Remember, this program originated for DJs who can't count to anything but 4!

Agreed ...

It's absense makes Live a definite no-go zone for people productiong Metal or RnB where time signature changes abound.

It would be a shame to exclude producers in these genres from Live's captive audience.

Cheers !

It's a basic musical function. I'm all for it.

This is another paramount feature. As a matter of fact, it was the only thing holding back mags from doing 10 outa 10 pretty much.

If you can do tempo, you can do time/sig/change :D

Yes, this would make my year! About the only thing I can think of that I absolutely would add to Live (as it stands).
