presets for automation-curves?

it would be very helpful to have some presets for drawing the automation-curves like the SINE-curve in CUBASE, or "RAMPs" (up and down) for more accurate line-drawing for example... 8O

any solutions or more ideas therefor?

I agree.. I've drawn HUNDREDS of linear and exponential thinned CC curves in Live by hand!

Bézier curve and CC thinning support would be welcomed here, and is especially helpful for lighting, where fade-up/fade-down brightness is never linear and varies between types of lights, and moving head/scanner pan/tilts are far more natural with non-linear movement. Also, a lot of video effects are far more effective with ease-in/ease-out CCs.

Can't you draw them in Cubase, save as a MIDI file, and open in Live? If you can, I'll buy Cubase just for that!

Also, I think Conny is working on a Plogue Bidule solution where the CCs will be generated instantly on-the-fly, LFO-style.

thank you for your agreement!

i'm new to LIVE and missing this way of simple drawing automations was one of the first things i realized.
btw i'm also still working with CUBASE... exporting automations via MIDI... mhhh, i will try this... just for fun...

Let me know if it works!

I'll buy Cubase Lite... or whatever they call their entry-level package.

Generate the cc curve by bidule and record it. Then it's copy paste time. It's a bit tedious, but it can be done.

That sounds sweet, but I don't have time to figure it out in Plogue, and their documentation is not very good!

It sounds like a good solution until Live incorporates better CC drawing tools.

Thanks for the tip!

You can do it using EnergyXT stand-alonetoo. Draw your CC curve in xt. Let everything out using midiyoke or hubi's midi loopback device. Let Live learn the midi number using the midi map function. Record. Cut & paste.

But hey ... built-in presets would be better 8)
