Wouldn't it be nice? Slicer.

Like in the topic.
Wouldn't you like the slicer to be in Live?
And then you could use your keybord or pad to play those slices like on
mpc...
What you think about that?

it would be VERY good, and also I wouldnt ahve thought too hard to implement
Recycle like fucntiosn ie slice a sample, auto map it across Impulse & create a
MIDI file to trigger it as per the timing in the original file....
with the amazing power of LIVE I dont undertand why i still need Recycle
but i do...
it seems like a function that coudl almsot be scripted using existing features in LIVE

Yes it would be nice to have slicing available within Live. In the meantime, this works great and it's less time consuming since it is a VSTi. I myself used to go the recycle/dr rex/rewire method. Not any more:

Somewhere i have read, how you can do it internally with Live...it was a tip on some german producing magazine, i was skipping articles (i was in a hurry) and missed the point.
But it was something like this: Warp your loop, and drag (???) it to Impulse. You may try it.
As for me i use Reason's Dr. Rex and some refills

well in case they never do it, you should check out intakt. it does that easily, my favorite for a 3rd party plug.
but yes, it would be nice, to just split a sample into pieces and then send them to impulse or session slots.
it would be almost the same process as intakt, though integrated.

yes its just like recycle but better.
u press one button, "beat machine" and it slices the sample and maps it across the keys. also it can export a midi file ala reason's rex player to play back the loop in time.
you can put different effects over each slice, and, have multiple sliced and mapped samples per instance.
