Hey abletonmen, what's the word on recording or importing audio, uneffected by stretch/compress?

I read an article in Future Music that said there is no limit imposed on audio recording length. Please explain your concern about support for non-looping audio. Are you concerned with audio quality or the ability to multi track or something else?
